Any idiot can test himself in nature. Just set off ill prepared and under-equipped. Believe me, you’ll be tested!
Using nature to reset your mental baseline requires a little more manfulness:
- A comfortable shelter to spend the night in
- Tasty, healthy food cooked over the fire
- The company of a few stand-up guys
Nobody gets thrown in at the deep end on this show. We’ll spend the time making sure you know how to site and set up your shelter and bed for a good nights sleep.
We’ll eat our meals together round the campfire where you’ll learn how to cook breakfast lunch dinner the way the old timers did back back in the day.
You’ll become familiar with using an axe, knife and saw to take care of the various tasks that go into creating a traditional camp site out in the trees.
Perhaps most importantly you’ll have the time and space to reflect make some plans, set some intentions and just breathe.
At the end you’ll be presented with your 24WR patch to sew on your rucksack.
But that’s not all you’ll be leaving with.
A sense of calm that only the stillness of a forest and a night under the stars can give you.
The company of a few solid guys, just like you.
Skills you can use and share any time you want and the impetus to return home ready to kick Monday’s backside!
The Place
The Plan
On Sunday we’ll have breakfast and discuss how the night went.
Depending on location we might go for a dip in the loch and we’ll spend some time on traditional crafts like spoon carving, tool making and leather stitching (man sewing!) After that we’ll have lunch, then break camp and head home.
Your Host
I've worked with a lot of different men. From incarcerated gang members in the US to military veterans dealing with PTSD, and from asylum seekers to senior managers.
I've learned that men need space to talk but they also need space to be men. Its one reason why the outdoors is very important to me.
Questions
No you don’t
Will I have to talk about myself?
You don't have to bare your soul but your voice, your experiences and your opinions matter. Feel free to share them.
I've never done any wild-camping.
No problem!
Why the bread picture?
because I don't have a 'question' picture.
